Origen
Interior design of a grill restaurant in Mérida, Yucatán (2022). The project takes grilling as its theme: beyond serving as a restaurant, the space is conceived as a gathering place for learning about the art of the grill.
Origen is not just a restaurant, but a place where people can gather to learn about the art of grilling. A place that celebrates a passion for meat and for cooking on the grill, seeking to build a community of lovers of fire and gastronomy. With careful attention to the design and functionality of the space.

The challenge
The client wanted to create a dining experience revolving around meat, with a special grill as its central element: it becomes the protagonist of the space and the axis of the restaurant's main theme. The identity of the project is built from this element, in the guest experience as well as in the atmosphere and language of the interior.
The design decision
With the grill as the starting point, the overall materiality of the project was defined, incorporating firewood logs on walls and ceilings as an element that goes beyond the decorative. Their presence reinforces the space's relationship with fire, cooking and the origin of the dining experience, while adding texture, depth and warmth to the interiors. In this way, the firewood becomes a visual device that directly connects the architecture with the restaurant's concept.
